Word Study For Today: The Book Of Psalm Chapter 98.

Texts: Matthew 25:1-28.  | Luke 16:1-12. | Job 31:37; Ecclesiastes 11:9.

Accountability is the state of being answerable for; the state of being responsible for. Everyone created is accountable to the creator. No one in existence is at the instance of himself or herself, we all are here by God’s design, plan and intent. >“Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable.”[Hebrews 4:13NLT]▪️

Accountability depicts responsibility. It means taking the bull by the horn, for the expected positive outcome you have in mind.

You didn’t send yourself on assignment, you didn’t gift yourself, you don’t sustain yourself; rather, every of such is as orchestrated and designed by God. If that be true, you are liable and accountable therefore to Him. > “Yes, each of us will give a personal account to God.”[Romans 14:12 NLT]▪️

God is a shrewd business man, He is not a waster. He is not at sea as to how to distribute His resources.

Every of His resource committed shall be tracked at the end of the day. He is not  Santa Claus who just merely gives gifts away. (His every investment matters and counts for something); therefore He will take account. He has His records; He is so very detailed with every detail of your existence. >Matthew 10:30 (MSG)says ==> He pays even greater attention to you, down to the last detail—even numbering the hairs on your head!”▪️

No strand of hair can fall off without Him taking note. If God is this detailed, then beloved, we ought to wake up to realities, no more running riot, living like the wicked whom scriptures says in >Psalms 10:4(NET)==>“The wicked man is so arrogant he always thinks, “God won’t hold me accountable; he doesn’t care.”▪️

Interesting! On the contrary, God cares to the last details and will hold every man accountable, even of his or her words. >“I tell you that on the day of judgment, people will give an account for every worthless word they speak.”

[Matthew 12:36 NET]▪️

The wicked isn’t conscious of this, little wonder he takes lightly the things of God and even rejects Him. He is of the mindset that he will live through this earth and he has no responsibility of reporting his deeds to anyone. >Why does the wicked man reject God? He says to himself, “You will not hold me accountable.”[Psalms 10:4, 13NET]▪️Alas, what a huge error! O, man, you are accountable to God for every deposit of His, in your life, including revelations. > …we and our children are accountable forever for all that he has revealed to us, so that we may obey all the terms of these instructions. ”[Deuteronomy 29:29b NLT]▪️

Like the parable of the Kingdom, as found in Matthew Chapter 25, God has given unto each one of us, His gift… it is His own, and He has taken note of it. >“To one he gave five bags of gold, to another two bags, and to another one bag, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey.”[Matthew 25:15 NIV]▪️>“And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers,”[Ephesians 4:11 NKJV]▪️>8)“for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, 9)to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, 10)to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.” [I Corinthians 12:8-10 NKJV]▪️

Be assured beloved; God is not confused nor unaware of what He dished out to each one. Our God is too articulate, and overly detailed. He formed us and wired us for specific purposes with specific gifting. For each gift/investment, God demands accountability. We ought therefore to take note of what we have been given so we can be well accountable for each, when the owner comes to take account. Bible says in >I Peter 4:5(NKJV)==>“They will give an account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.”▪️>Matthew 25:19 (NIV)==>“After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them.”▪️

Make no mistake about it,  a time is coming, and very soon too; when God is going to settle account with us. What would be your response in accounting for what has been bestowed (committed) to you? In Matthew 25:20,22,24-25 (NIV), each servant reported: ==> 20)“The man who had received five bags of gold brought the other five. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five bags of gold. See, I have gained five more.’” 22)“The man with two bags of gold also came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with two bags of gold; see, I have gained two more.’ 24)“Then the man who had received one bag of gold came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. 25)So I was afraid and went out and hid your gold in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.’”▪️

Beloved what will be your response? Job said > “I would give him an account of my every step; I would present it to him as to a ruler. [Job 31:37 NIV]▪️You will need to give an account of your every step. The servant with one bag of gold, was so daring as to say the owner of gold seeks gains where he hasn’t scattered. What an affront! What a thought? If he has committed it to you, hasn’t he scattered it in a soil? And having scattered in your soil (hand), shouldn’t he expect his returns? God has committed (bestowed) so much unto us, we can’t afford to give excuses when He comes for His account.

We should never tread the path of the unprofitable servant, an excuse finder. >…Do everything you want to do; take it all in. But remember that you must give an account to God for everything you do. ”[Ecclesiastes 11:9b NLT]▪️

Ultimately, our goal must be to hear the Master say at check point >‘Good work! You did your job well. From now on be my partner.’ [Matthew 25:19-21 MSG]▪️

May we become partners with Him as we deal well with His investment in us, going the extra mile to becoming accountable.
