Word Study For Today: The Book Of Psalm Chapter 84.

Devotion: BEING YOUR BEST SELF IN CHRIST.

Text: Daniel 6:1-5.  | Proverbs 4:10-19. | Isaiah 48:17.

Being your best self as an individual requires total commitment, determination, dedication, discipline, focus towards your propelling goal.

Going a step further by being your best self in Christ Jesus the One who called you, is the ultimate!

Why is this so?

It is so, because you’ve now discovered your ultimate purpose of existence: it’s now gone beyond your personal ambition, to you now fulfilling a more phenomenal role in God’s grand agenda.

To be the Best in anything simply means being the most excellent or suitable. It means something to the highest degree or most fully.

To be Good is quite okay [because at least you are not classified as ‘Bad’], to be Better however is obviously more dignifying than just being good at something. You’ve taken your rating farther than regular.

The challenge to be the ‘Best’ is the ultimate of these classifications. All three however carries weight, depending on whose assessment/standard it’s being based.

Our focus today is on God as the Examiner/Judge.

When it comes to God, we are well aware that the standard is at its highest and purest. >“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.”[Isaiah 55:8-9 MEV]▪️

Our God is the Creator of the heavens and the earth, and all that is therein. No man came here to this side of eternity of his or her own accord. In creating us, God wasn’t just trying to populate the earth, He created (manufactured) each one for very specific reasons and purpose. He had a need in mind, hence brought man here to come fill that role, [ensuring His plan and purposes are met]. Everyone of us therefore are here on earth [whatever space of the earth He situated you], on His terms, to fulfill His ultimate plans and purposes.

His terms are like the manufacturer’s manual for any device.

It’s a common phenomenon to find people procuring device after device, yet they never put to use, a quarter of its functions. (Sounds familiar?) When the manufacturer peeps into the usage of the device he created, he is able to ascertain if it’s being put to its ‘Best’ use or underused.

So also God (the manufacturer of man), is the One Who knows what is Best for each individual created, and if everyone is performing at their best and optimum capacity.

>Isaiah 48:17 (NIV)==>“This is what the Lord says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.”▪️

God our God, is the One Who knows what is Best for us, hence He teaches us what is best for us, inorder that we turn out to be the best we can be in Him. Many persons are racing through life, attempting all manner of things, doing serious exploits, labouring and striving hard; all of these is so they can ‘Become’ (i.e amount to, attain etc).

Scriptures in >Ecclesiastes 9:11(MSG) ==> “I took another walk around the neighborhood and realized that on this earth as it is— The race is not always to the swift, Nor the battle to the strong, Nor satisfaction to the wise, Nor riches to the smart, Nor grace to the learned. Sooner or later bad luck hits us all.”▪️

What this simply means is, mere human abilities will not take anyone far. If it initially appears as though things are working out well even in our strength, without taking direction from the One Who knows what’s best for each one, our exploits hits the rocks eventually. Or as it happens in most cases and for most people, things seems to be working out so well in the physical, such that accolades and awards are flying around… Yet, many die being celebrated as successful, but the Creator looks and says this [device], being- has not lived at his BEST as ordained at creation. What an anomaly!

>Romans 9:16a (MEV)==>“…it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy…”▪️

It is only when we abide in God, making our lives His dwelling place, building His throne in our hearts, making His Word our delight; that is when we can be our best self in Him.

Only in God alone can we ascertain what is Best for us, and He is the One Who teaches us just what is Best. He teaches what is Best by directing us in the right path to go. >Proverbs 4:18(MSG) bible says  ==>“The ways of right-living people glow with light; the longer they live, the brighter they shine.▪️

When God is the One leading you, your path can only shine brighter each passing day. No better yesterday, because His lead is not a trial and error, it’s not permutations, it’s apt and precise, hence you operate at your BEST (optimum) in Him.

>Proverbs 3:6-7 (MEV)==> 6)“in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and depart from evil.”▪️

Beloved, take heed today to follow the lead of the Creator, be not wise in your eyes. >Proverbs 4:2(MEV)==>For I give you good precepts; do not forsake my teaching.▪️

Humble yourself before your Maker, submit to Him, engage His teachings, so you can ultimately BE YOUR BEST SELF IN CHRIST.
