Word Study For Today: The Book of Psalm Chapter 31
Devotion: BORN FOR SUCH A COURSE.
Text: Jeremiah 1:5-12; 17-18. | Isaiah 46:9-11. | Esther 4:1-14.
To everything under heaven the book of Ecclesiastes says, there is a purpose. Nothing and no one is just here to laze around.
Every instrument/equipment is manufactured for a very specific and definite reason/function (purpose). Each one is expected therefore to function according to inventor’s intent. As it is with instruments and equipment, so also it is with every created being.
> Romans 8:30a(MSG)==> After God made that decision of what His children should be like, He followed it up by calling people by name…”
So none of us is here of our freewill or agenda. It took Mordecai to awaken Esther to the reality of her main purpose in the palace.
>Esther 4:8, 12-14 (NIV)==>8)“He also gave him a copy of the text of the edict for their annihilation, which had been published in Susa, to show to Esther and explain it to her, and he told him to instruct her to go into the king’s presence to beg for mercy and plead with him for her people. 12)When Esther’s words were reported to Mordecai, 13)he sent back this answer: “Do not think that because you are in the king’s house you alone of all the Jews will escape. 14)For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”
Most of the time, titles and roles get us carried away from the core intent of our existence. Esther had assumed she was in the palace to warm the king’s bed and be a number of the population in the kings’s harem, until Mordecai poked her senses, jolting her to her course.
>Isaiah 46:11 (NIV)==>“From the east I summon a bird of prey; from a far-off land, a man to fulfill my purpose. What I have said, that I will bring about; what I have planned, that I will do.”
God always has a man in place, created and born to fulfill a specific purpose, [plan] which the Lord had preordained. No single person of us all is intended as a miscreant, everyone born was called from “a far-off land”, summoned by God to come do His bidding.
>Isaiah 6:8(NIV)==>“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
>ISamuel 13:14b(NKJV)==>“…The LORD has sought for Himself a man after His own heart, and the LORD has commanded him to be commander over His people…
Jeremiah was sought by God to attend to nations, effecting some strategic changes that requires sometimes a planting, and other times, uprooting.
He was to confront nations. He wasn’t born to come toy around in shallow waters; His was more like the deep end of the ocean.
>Jeremiah 1:5, 10(NLT)==> 5)
“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.” 10) “Today I appoint you to stand up against nations and kingdoms. Some you must uproot and tear down, destroy and overthrow. Others you must build up and plant.”
Jeremiah had his cute reasons, >Jeremiah 1:6 (NLT)==>““O Sovereign Lord,” I said, “I can’t speak for you! I’m too young!”
As far as God is concerned, He has done all things well, hence our reasons and excuses for not wanting to step up and take our course, will never be good enough to deter His intent.
Unto Jeremiah in >Jeremiah 1:7-8 NLT)==> 7)“The Lord replied, “Don’t say, ‘I’m too young,’ for you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you. 8)And don’t be afraid of the people, for I will be with you and will protect you. I, the Lord, have spoken!””
The Lord has spoken and charted a course for each one of us. Have you discovered yours? Are you giving excuses of inability? WHO KNOWS IF YOU WERE BORN FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS? [in any event, you were BORN FOR A COURSE]…
**Worship the Lord Almighty.
**Pray in the Holy Ghost for 15minutes.
**Thank God for your appointed course in life.
**Receive grace for clarity of that course you were born to chart (if you don’t already know).
**Pray for grace for precision in the accomplishment of your life’s purpose.
