Word Study For Today: The Book of Jeremiah 31:3-26.

Devotion: CROOKED PATH MADE STRAIGHT!

Texts: Isaiah 26:1-7. | Isaiah 40:1-31. | I Peter 5:10.

The Bible says in >Isaiah 26:7(NLT)==>“But for those who are righteous, the way is not steep and rough. You are a God who does what is right, and you smooth out the path ahead of them.”◼️

For the RIGHTEOUS, their way/path cannot forever be steep or rough [crooked]. Sometimes, our way turn to be arduous, laborious, rigorous, toilsome, not straight, bending, curved and every word you can use to describe crooked; but as the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, our God won’t allow it forever so. God will never allow His own to keep meandering, or proceed on a winding or indirect course, or live a zigzagged life forever. >Acts 2:27(YLT)==>“…Thou wilt not leave my soul to hades, nor wilt Thou give Thy Kind One to see corruption;”◼️

Corruption will mean to rot away like one who serves a powerless God. And because as believers, we have and serve a Father Whose  power supersedes every other power of any force or opposition that can make life zigzagging or crooked, it’s given that things will turn out well after all.  >4)“Every valley shall be exalted And every mountain and hill brought low; The crooked places shall be made straight And the rough places smooth; 5)The glory of the LORD shall be revealed, And all flesh shall see it together; For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.”[Isaiah 40:4-5NKJV]◼️

Beloved, this is coming straight up to you from the mouth of the Lord Himself. Rough places will smoothen out, the crooked paths will straighten up, what wasn’t clear will suddenly become clear, the knotty puzzle shall be fixed.

>Romans 8:28 (YLT)==>“And we have known that to those loving God all things do work together for good, to those who are called according to purpose;”◼️

See this >“And then, after your brief suffering, the God of all loving grace, who has called you to share in his eternal glory in Christ, will personally and powerfully restore you and make you stronger than ever. Yes, he will set you firmly in place and build you up.”[1 Peter 5:10 TPT]◼️

Such an awesome God. The crooked will not remain crooked…Oh no, it won’t! >7)“…there is hope for a tree: If it is cut down, it will sprout again, and its new shoots will not fail 8)Although its roots may grow old in the ground and its stump begins to die in the soil, 9)at the scent of water it will flourish and put forth shoots like a new plant.”[Job 14:7-9 NET]◼️

The Holy Spirit is more than a scent of water to our thirsty and laborious soul.

Beloved, does your way appear crooked? Have you been trying and it seems the more you try, the tougher and steeper the path gets? Our God says to us in >Isaiah 42:16 (NIV)==>“I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them.”◼️

The lyrics of a hymn reads>>”Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care? Precious Savior, still our refuge…” The One Who saves to the uttermost is our refuge.

Perhaps your story appears like that of the Israelites >“…We worked our way in and around the hills of Seir for a long, long time. [Deuteronomy 2:1b MSG]◼️

Same God of our progenitors is saying as He said to them > “You’ve been going around in circles in these hills long enough; …[Deuteronomy 2:2a MSG]◼️

>I will go before you, and make the rough places smooth; I will break in pieces the doors of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron; [Isaiah 45:2 HNV]◼️

God is gone ahead of you beloved, to ensure your story changes to >>> “CROOKED PATH MADE STRAIGHT! ”
