Word Study For Today: The Book Of Psalms Chapter 140.

Devotion: DEMAND AND SUPPLY.

Text: Genesis 24:14-27. | Psalm 2:1-8. | Matthew 7:7-11.

To make a demand is to ask for something especially that which you need. Placing a demand is to ask[request]. >7)“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you. 8)For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks, it will be opened.”[Matthew 7:7-8 MEV].

Making a request, placing a demand or asking from God, the scripture makes us realise there will be a corresponding positive response. Ask, and it will be given to you. It makes life so interesting, to imagine that for every demand you make on God, our Adonai, there’s a supply (provision) already waiting. Ask and you shall receive. Everyone who asks, receives[just as exactly as the Bible says it]. >8)“What do you want? Name it: Nations as a present? continents as a prize? 9)You can command them all to dance for you, Or throw them out with tomorrow’s trash.”[Psalm 2:8-9 MSG].  This is so thrilling. God says what do you want? What’s that ‘something’, or ‘somethings’ that you want? He said go ahead and Name it[make your demand]. Make your request known unto God. When you do make your request known, whatever they are[including having nations as your birthday presents], they will be at your beck and call>>> you will have it >>> it shall be supplied. With God it’s a Demand and Supply covenant. Our God is Jehovah Elshaddai(the Big Breatsed One). None of your demands can overwhelm Him [as not to have or as to be running helter skelter]. Our God has the whole world in His Hands, hence He has more than enough supply at His disposal. God can never be stranded. He is our Well of life>“but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”[John 4:14 NKJV].

Our God is an overflowing God. He has more than we can ever think or demand for. >“Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for his miraculous power constantly energizes you.”[Ephesians 3:20 TPT].

Ask beloved and you shall receive, seek and you shall surely find. Name it, and it will be at your command. Never limit your demand by the capacity of men. >“…With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.”[Mark 10:27b NKJV].

You can make a demand from man and no matter how willing he is to give you what you want, if he doesn’t have it, he can’t give you. With God, it is not so. In Him does all things consists. He can never be stranded nor empty!

>“For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD bestows grace and favor and honor; No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.”[Psalm 84:11 AMP].

God will never hold back from you what you demand of Him.

Eleazar had barely finished praying, [placing a demand on God], no sooner than his overwhelming, above and beyond supply came. >14)“Now let it be that the young woman to whom I say, ‘Please let down your pitcher that I may drink,’ and she says, ‘Drink, and I will also give your camels a drink’— let her be the one You have appointed for Your servant Isaac. And by this I will know that You have shown kindness to my master.”15)And it happened, before he had finished speaking, that behold, Rebekah, who was born to Bethuel, son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham’s brother, came out with her pitcher on her shoulder.18)she said, “Drink, my lord.” Then she quickly let her pitcher down to her hand, and gave him a drink. 19)And when she had finished giving him a drink, she said, “I will draw water for your camels also, until they have finished drinking.” 20)Then she quickly emptied her pitcher into the trough, ran back to the well to draw water, and drew for all his camels.”[Genesis 24:14-15, 18-20NKJV].

You need to know to whom you make your request known. The arm of flesh will fail. Placing a demand on man, cannot guarantee you supplies. >Genesis 30:1-2 (NKJV)==> 1)“Now when Rachel saw that she bore Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister, and said to Jacob, “Give me children, or else I die!” And Jacob’s anger was aroused against Rachel, and he said, 2)“ Am I in the place of God, who has withheld from you the fruit of the womb?”

>2 Kings 6:26-27 (AMP)==>26)“As the king of Israel (Jehoram) was passing by on the [city] wall a woman cried out to him, “Help, my lord, O king!” 27)He said, “If the LORD does not help you, from where shall I get you help? From the threshing floor, or from the wine press?”

What God does not do can never get done. Roll this over in your mind.[Selah]; no matter how you press in your demand, no supply comes of man. Only God has said >“Before they call, I will answer. While they’re still speaking, I will hear.”[Isaiah 65:24 GW].

>“‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’[Jeremiah 33:3 NKJV].

Beloved, whatever you therefore lack, ask of God, the One Who is able to supply. >“But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all without hesitation and without reproach; and it will be given to him.”[Jacob (James) 1:5 TLV].

Child of God >“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;”[Philippians 4:6 NKJV].

Forget not, with your God it’s a matter of DEMAND AND SUPPLY.
