Word Study For Today: The Book Of Psalm, Chapter 102.
Devotion: FOCUS ON, AND TAKE A HINT.
Text: 1 Corinthians 13:10. | Ruth 1:2-18. | Luke 1:26-56.
To focus is to concentrate one’s attention on something or someone.
This focus is not an ordinary one, but one with the intent of taking a hint, that is- a clue.
In life, you cannot walk your wilderness journey all by yourself, you need the railing of the stairway of destiny, so you will not fall. Of a truth your race is yours to run, without a doubt you need to maintain your lane without crossing into someone else’s; however you need the experience of co-runners to keep you on track, else you quit.
Scripture says in >Isaiah 51:2-3 (KJV)==>2)“Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him. 3)For the Lord shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the Lord; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.”▪️
Did that resonate with you? God said ‘very true I called Abraham alone’, [even you He called alone], and though it’s expedient, like Abraham, you need to focus, (no distraction, I called you alone), yet you need to FOCUS ON, AND TAKE A HINT [from Abraham], and see how he walked/worked on his track such that despite all the odds of the “wilderness”, he still finished his race with the golden crown placed on his head and his medal on his neck, and his trophy in his hand.’
When you FOCUS ON, AND TAKE A HINT [from Abraham], and you are strengthened to keep at it on your track even by his experience, then your wilderness too becomes like Eden; and with comfort you shall be comforted by the Lord. Hallelujah!.
However, there’s one pitfall that must be avoided on the journey of life, and this is called ISOLATION. It is one expensive luxury, a cost you should never afford, because it is deadly.
You need the strength of those who have been through or who are victoriously going through, (not defeatedly passing through). There’s strength as you FOCUS ON, AND TAKE A HINT.
For Ruth in her Mara experience, Naomi’s experience, [her resolve to live despite the thorns, inspite of the pain and shame], was the strength to grab [without sliding back], the railing of her destiny stairway. She saw how Naomi lived on without denying God when her husband passed on… how despite her two children also taken, Naomi remained stable and kept holding unto the railing of her stairway; she hung unto the Strength for today and the Hope for tomorrow. It was painful, yet she chose not to slide(back). By her handling of the situation, Ruth determined she will Focus On, from this Naomi, (not unto man, nor flesh but unto the God and the Spirit that Naomi latched unto, that sustained her on her track (wilderness).
Ruth pressed on and she became comforted, and her wilderness became like Eden. She got the crown on her head [Boaz], and her trophy in her hand [Obed], her medal on her neck [>“The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham; and Boaz begat Obed of Ruth…”Matthew 1:1, 5b KJV]▪️
Mary the virgin, betrothed to Joseph to be married, was able to grab tightly the railing of the stairway of her destiny journey because the angel Gabriel had advised- FOCUS ON, and take a hint from Elisabeth; >“Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age; and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.”[Luke 1:34-36 KJV]▪️
Mary’s inquiry “How shall this be?” Loaded question. First it means “how can I become pregnant when you know I haven’t known a man?” And to this, the angel said, “the Holy Ghost will come upon you.” Secondly, that question connotes, “how will I be able to go through this track suddenly set before me, this ridiculing and shameful track, people know I know no man; how will I bear this shame (wilderness)?” To this the angel replied, “your cousin Elisabeth, is in the sixth month of going through her own wilderness journey (bearing a child in her womb in old age)…FOCUS ON her, take a cue in her experience and in the strength/grace of going through.
Beloved, > “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”[1 Corinthians 10:13NIV]▪️
Beloved, be encouraged, there’s a way out. There’s a way to go through your wilderness experience; there’s a way to stay on your track, steadily holding unto the railing of your destiny stairway, till your crown gets on your head, your medal on your neck and your trophy in your hand. There’s a way out so you can endure. FOCUS ON, AND TAKE A HINT.
-Worship the Lord in His majesty.
-Pray in the Holy Ghost for 15 minutes.
-Ask the Lord for the grace to endure on your track of life, [for there’s always a way of escape from every wilderness experience].
-Pray for grace to locate and Look unto, taking a cue from your Elisabeth.
