Word Study for Today: The Book of Psalm, Chapter 115.

Devotion: NO DULLING! SHINE!

Texts: Isaiah 60: 1-22. | Matthew 5:14-16. | Daniel 12:3.

The essence of light is to shine, illumine, light up. Where light is functional, darkness is bound to disappear (without controversies). It is in light to shine. A none shining light is a byword. Brightness comes as a result of light. Every light is meant to brighten [i.e Shine].

Scriptures says in >Matthew 5:14(AMP)==> ““You are the light of [Christ to] the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden;”▪️

In effect, you are the illuminator of this world…(one who is designed to lighten up the world, dispelling darkness out of the world, shining in the world, brightening up the world). That is who you are and therefore your role. Your role is >“Make your light shine, so others will see the good you do and will praise your Father in heaven.”[Matthew 5:16CEV]▪️

When you function in your elements [as the light you are], it will cause others to see. Without you functioning (shining), the world can never see, because the world is in the dark. >You live among people who are crooked and evil, but you must not do anything they can say is wrong. Try to shine as lights among the people of this world,” [Philippians 2:15 CEV]▪️

Don’t conform to their darkness. Express your strength, Shine as light.

Light is of essence in and to the dark. The world needs light >>>you are that light the world needs to see. Vision is poorly, in the dark. In the dark, people hit and crash into stuffs (or into one another); but with light, there’s clarity of vision because of the illumination that light brings. If it be true as it sure is, that you are in this world to light it up, then scriptures brings you the command word in >Isaiah 60:1(NIV)==>“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.”▪️

Beloved, NO DULLING, SHINE! Live out your life as it is designed to be. It is an anomaly for you to be light, yet not shine; hence the command word- Arise! Get up! Take responsibility [respond (in your nature) to darkness]. Show darkness the stuff of which you are made. You are designed to Shine, Shine now you must!

>Daniel 12:3(KJV)==>“And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.”▪️

It is the wise that live according to their purpose. To be called light, yet not shine, is non-fulfillment of purpose. To be called light and not lighten up is a defeat of intent. Those who arise (step up and step into purpose) are wise, says the word of the Lord. > …the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears, let them hear. ”[Matthew 13:43 NIV]▪️

Having a right standing with Christ, then you must shine!

Bible says shine like the sun. Have you ever woken up to see the sun in its time, not shining in this world? The sun shines. If at some point it appears like the cloud moves over it, yet the sun breaks through the cloud and shines! Hallelujah!

What is affecting your shine, what’s beclouding you? Break forth, breakthrough it and Shine! >“And thine age shall be clearer than the noonday; thou shalt shine forth, thou shalt be as the morning.”[Job11:17 KJV]▪️

You are to shine, and you keep shining. It’s a permanent role. No dulling at any moment. You can’t afford half current or low battery, shine brightly, illuminate always. There must be continuity in your bright shining. > “The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.” [Proverbs 4:18 NIV]▪️

There’s also an increasing measure of the significance of your Shine. You cannot afford a better yesterday. You can’t light the path of the world brighter yesterday than you do today. No retrogression, it must only get better. Increase your tempo of impact.

Wondering what impact? An example is  >7)“…to divide your bread with the hungry And bring the homeless poor into the house; When you see the naked, that you cover him, And not to hide yourself from [the needs of] your own flesh and blood?” 10) “Give your food to the hungry and care for the homeless…[Isaiah 58:7 & 10aCEV]▪️

Connect the dots to light? Your impact in a dark world is your Shine in a world. The Bible says in Isaiah 58:8 & 10b(AMP)==>““Then your light will break out like the dawn, And your healing (restoration, new life) will quickly spring forth; Your righteousness will go before you [leading you to peace and prosperity], The glory of the LORD will be your rear guard.” 10)…“Then your light will rise in darkness And your gloom will become like midday.”▪️

Arise Shine! NO DULLING! SHINE!

Prayer Action:

  • Sing praise to the King eternal, the LIGHT of the world. 
  • Pray in the language of LIGHT for 15minutes. 
  • Pray that the Lord will strengthen your “limbs” this day to Rise and Shine. [Pray against all that keeps you down]. 
  • Ask that the Lord will help you as He helps the sun, that you will Shine, hence fulfill your purpose as a light in this world. [Pray that no power will hide you under the “bushel”]. 
  • Pray for grace for impact [being the solution to the missing link as the case maybe]. 
  • ARISE SHINE!
