Word Study For Today: The Book Of Psalm Chapter 113.

Texts:  Jonah 2: 1-10. | Lamentations 3: 1- 58. | Nahum 1:9.

Are you or do you know one who has seen affliction? [>“I am the man who has seen affliction by the rod of the Lord’s wrath. ”Lamentations 3:1 NIV]▪️Affliction will not arise again says the Lord [>“What do you conspire against the LORD? He will make an utter end of it. Affliction will not rise up a second time.” ==>Nahum 1:9NKJV]▪️

The Lord Almighty is touched by whatever touches His people; for we do not have a High Priest Who cannot be touched. Whatsoever affects us, affects Him [even though He sometimes deliberately orchestrates or allows what we go through just to shake us up; yet He’s pained by whatever hurts us]>Isaiah 63:9 (NKJV)==>“In all their affliction He was afflicted, And the Angel of His Presence saved them; In His love and in His pity He redeemed them; And He bore them and carried them All the days of old.”▪️>“For He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; Nor has He hidden His face from Him; But when He cried to Him, He heard. ”[Psalms 22:24NKJV]▪️

When the children of Israel were afflicted in Egypt by Pharaoh, the Lord saw it and cushioned them all through the aggravating levels of their affliction. Yet more did Pharaoh punish, suffer and annihilate them. >Deuteronomy 26:6-7 (NIV)==>6)“But the Egyptians mistreated us and made us suffer, subjecting us to harsh labor. 7)Then we cried out to the Lord, the God of our ancestors, and the Lord heard our voice and saw our misery, toil and oppression.”▪️

The Lord who knows their frame, remembers they are mere dust,  thence heard their cry. He had no intention to wipe or blot them out from the surface of the earth; to this end, He was moved with compassion. [>13)“As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him; 14)for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust.[”Psalm 103:13-14NIV]▪️

When they cried, it looked like He didn’t hear, but God was working behind the scenes as He still does today for anyone and everyone who would call on His name. He raised for them a deliverer, a rescue party from the hand of their oppressor, [a stubborn one for that matter]. Beloved, there is no level of affliction and afflicter the Lord cannot handle. God has the strategy to combat every uprising. To His children Israel, He raised Moses. >4)“When the Lord saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush, “Moses! Moses!” And Moses said, “Here I am.”

7)The Lord said, “I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. 8)So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey…”[Exodus 3:4, 7-8NIV]▪️

God is never settled in the affliction of His own. Time and time again, it’s proven that God is touched by what touches His people. [>“For the LORD saw that the affliction of Israel was very bitter; and whether bond or free, there was no helper for Israel.”==> II Kings 14:26NKJV▪️ >26)“The LORD saw the terrible suffering of the Israelites; there was no one at all to help them. 27)But it was not the LORD ‘s purpose to destroy Israel completely and forever, so he rescued them through King Jeroboam II.”==>2 Kings 14:26-27GNB]▪️

If it wasn’t God’s purpose to destroy Israel, then it’s still not and will never be His purpose to destroy His own. No matter what is going on in your life (your world) today, it’s not the intent of Jehovah to destroy you.  >“For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,”[II Corinthians 4:17 NKJV]▪️>“I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. ”[Romans 8:18 NIV]▪️

Jonah cried out to God in his affliction and God our compassionate Father heard Him.  “…I cried out to the LORD because of my affliction, And He answered me. “Out of the belly of Sheol I cried, And You heard my voice. ”[Jonah 2:2 NKJV]▪️>>> Out of the belly of sheol, Jonah cried. Where are you? How deep into the sea of affliction are you? How far gone on the journey of affliction are you? It doesn’t matter. God our God, Who heard Jonah in the deep blue sea of affliction will yet hear you as you cry and there shall be NO (bitterness). 20)My soul continually remembers them And is bowed down within me. 21)But this I call to mind, Therefore I have hope. 22)It is because of the LORD’S lovingkindnesses that we are not consumed, Because His [tender] compassions never fail.”[Lamentations 3:19-22AMP]▪️

The Lord is One Who lifts out of affliction, He will not turn His ears away from the cry of His people. >Psalm 107:41 (NIV)==>“But he lifted the needy out of their affliction and increased their families like flocks.”▪️>“Realize that the LORD shows the godly special favor; the LORD responds when I cry out to him. ”[Psalms 4:3NET]▪️

“This oppressed man cried out and the LORD heard; he saved him from all his troubles. ”[Psalms 34:6NET]▪️
