Word Study for Today: The Book of Psalm Chapter 13
Text:  Joshua 21:43-45 |2 Chronicles 14: 6-7 | 2 Chronicles 15:8-15 | 2 Chronicles 20:26-30.

Rest is indicative of peace or tranquility. It is mental or spiritual calm; it is relief or freedom [especially from anything that wearies, troubles, or disturbs].

II Chronicles 14:6 explains rest as lack of war. Asa chose to do what was right in the eyes of the Lord, he commanded Judah to seek and obey God; he abolished the high places where idols were worshiped. As a result of this, there was peace; he no longer had war in the land. God gave him rest on every side [all round rest].

Jehoshaphat who had become sandwiched in war amongst three other nations (Moab, Ammon and Mount Seir), handed over the battle to God via praise. The Lord being on his side, caused the nations to target one another, hence destroying themselves and thereby giving victory and rest to Jehoshaphat and Judah.

It is evident that in the package of victory, there is rest roundabout. I call this the 360 degrees rest. When Israel took physical delivery of all the good promises of God for them, God crowned it with rest round about.

Wow! Rest is very much needed in this chaotic world. Who says we can’t have rest/peace/tranquility/ ease/calmness? Every warring situation or factions must cease from war. In Matthew 11:28, Jesus said “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

Rest as only can be found in God, will require seeking Him with all of your heart, and finding Him when He is near. In John 14:27(CEV)==>Jesus says “I give you peace, the kind of peace only I can give. It isn’t like the peace this world can give. So don’t be worried or afraid.” Beloved, entertain no worry nor allow fear take you over. Being Christ’s and knowing Him confers His rest on you on all sides. Embrace His calmness, tranquility and ease in every facet of your life. Exodus 33:14 assures you of His Presence and guarantees you rest >>>“And the LORD said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

Prayer Action:
**Worship the majesty of God, singing to His glory.
**Pray in the Holy Ghost for 15 minutes, activating His Presence.
**“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” >>> Seek His face now, asking the Lord for His promised rest in your life.
**Present to Him areas of burden (in your life or that of loved ones)… and pray that His rest takes over in that very situation or issue.
**Thank Him for His assured rest/peace/ease/tranquility/victory.
