Word Study For Today: The Book of I John Chapter 5.
Devotion: SEEK HIM.
Texts: 2 Chronicles 15:1-9 | 2 Chronicles 7:12-16. | Isaiah 55:6.
If you look for God, you sure will find Him; ignoring and abandoning Him guarantees that He also will turn away from you. When you are for Him, you can be rest assured He is all out with you. >2 Chronicles 15:2b (GNB)==> “…The LORD is with you as long as you are with him. If you look for him, he will let you find him, but if you turn away, he will abandon you.”▪️
Those who seek Him honestly they find Him. >”…seek, and you will find…”[Matthew 7:7bNKJV]▪️It’s not only things that you seek from Him and find, but in seeking He Himself, you will find Him. David instructed His son Solomon to seek God. He gave him that assurance that if Solomon would seek the Lord, He shall be found of him. >“And Solomon, my son, learn to know the God of your ancestors intimately. Worship and serve him with your whole heart and a willing mind. For the Lord sees every heart and knows every plan and thought. If you seek him, you will find him. But if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.”[1 Chronicles 28:9 NLT]▪️
God knows every plan and thought of each one of us, He sees every heart and so no one can deceive Him, [faking that He is seeking God when He is not]. David said to Solomon, Worship and serve God wholeheartedly, not forcibly. Let it be free willed. Don’t be cajoled into seeking God, make it a default in your life. God doesn’t joke with those who have chosen Him as priority over and above every other thing in their lives. David also said to Solomon, learn to know God intimately, not just on the surface. Be convinced by yourself Who God is. When you are, seeking Him will be spontaneous because you already know the depth of the One whom you seek; knowing He is all powerful and all knowing, having the ability to do all things. God is worth your attention, your full blast attention. Take a cue from David’s advice to Solomon.
If in the face of trouble, the children of Israel remembered to seek Him and they found Him, you also will seek Him in and out of season, and you will find Him. >“But when trouble came, they turned to the LORD, the God of Israel. They searched for him and found him.”[2 Chronicles 15:4GNB]▪️
Glory in your God and in the fact that you know Him as to seek Him. Seek God perpetually, it pays you. >10)“Glory in His holy name; Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the LORD! 11)Seek the LORD and His strength; Seek His face evermore!” [I Chronicles 16:10-11NKJV]▪️Those who seek Him shall have their strength renewed in Him and they shall live. >“Seek the LORD and live, Lest He break out like fire in the house of Joseph, And devour it, With no one to quench it in Bethel—”[Amos5:6 NKJV]▪️
Life is revamped and made beautiful when you seek God. It’s a totally new ball game, when you find God as you seek Him. He gives undivided and unbeatable attention to those who seek Him. >14)“Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. 15)My eyes will be open and my ears attentive to every prayer made in this place.”[2 Chronicles 7:14-15NLT]▪️
Beloved, humble yourself and seek God. Seek Him out, be desperate in finding Him. Seeking Him guarantees answers to your petition; it also assures and ensures you land even in prosperity. Beloved, toy not at seeking Him. Too much is entrenched in having Him on your side. >“And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, in the law and in the commandment, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart. So he prospered.” [II Chronicles 31:21 NKJV]▪️
Only fools doubt proofs; when you seek Him and His beauty rests upon you, others around you will seek what you have, hence will come and seek your God. >“Yes, many peoples and strong nations Shall come to seek the LORD of hosts in Jerusalem, And to pray before the LORD.’” [Zechariah 8:22NKJV]▪️
Come on now people of God, scriptures says in >Hosea 10:12 (NKJV)==>“Sow for yourselves righteousness; Reap in mercy; Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the LORD, Till He comes and rains righteousness on you.”▪️
Truly without a doubt, it’s time to SEEK HIM!
-Praise the Lord Who is worth finding out.
-Speak in the holy language of the spirit.
-Turn to God and seek Him with all of your heart, [humble yourself before Him and wholeheartedly commit to Him].
-Pray that all your shortcomings He will forgive, His beauty comes upon you as you find Him, and His Hand guards you into your prosperity.
- SEEK THE LORD WHEN HE MAY BE FOUND.
