Word Study for Today: The Book of Psalm Chapter 130.

Devotion: SHOUT OF JOY.

Text: Joshua 6:1-20 | Isaiah 44:23-28. | Judges 7:17-25.

Shout for Joy! It’s time to make a loud noise borne out of joy. A positive shout is an indication of victory, joy, deliverance et al. Shout of joy is an unreserved expression of delight and gladness at an occurrence or a presence. >“Be glad in the LORD and rejoice, you righteous; And shout for joy, all you upright in heart!”[Psalms 32:11 NKJV]▪️There is a shout for those have joy(else their claim of joy is questionable); there’s a collaboration between joy and a shout. Most times joyous/joyful people express their joy via a shout.  The winning side is the shouting side.

>“Who will come from Mount Zion to rescue Israel? When the Lord restores his people, Jacob will shout with joy, and Israel will rejoice.”[Psalms 14:7 NLT]▪️

With restoration comes a rejoicing, and the joy of restoration is expressed by shouting. With Joy you can’t stay silent, for there are expressions of Joy, -a shout/singing and perhaps others [but these two are never found wanting. >“So rejoice in the Lord and be glad, all you who obey him! Shout for joy, all you whose hearts are pure! [Psalms 32:11 NLT]▪️

Joy is not often silent but loud with shouting. >1)“Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy. 5)God has ascended amid shouts of joy, the Lord amid the sounding of trumpets.”[Psalm 47:1, 5 NIV]▪️

God takes delight in the shouts of joy of His people. And those who are His, have in their midst the shout of the King. There’s a shout that comes with the presence of God. The shout of joy is an expression of the thrill experienced by a presence or occurrence. Shout of Joy is not found in the place of misdeed or misfortune for the Bible says >“No misfortune is seen in Jacob, no misery observed in Israel. The Lord their God is with them; the shout of the King is among them.”[Numbers 23:21 NIV]▪️

God’s presence beyond any other thing under the heaven triggers joy; and this joy is voiced and noised [ with a shout]. >“…they will see God’s face and shout for joy; he will restore them to full well-being.” [Job 33:26 NIV]▪️

The Ark was a representation of the presence of God in the midst of His people, little wonder it generated an exhilaration, a rejoicing and expression of same with a shout! >“When the ark of the Lord’s covenant came into the camp, all Israel raised such a great shout that the ground shook.”[1 Samuel 4:5 NIV]▪️

When the laying of the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid, this occurrence warranted an expression of the joy that accompanies it hence a shout went up. >“With praise and thanksgiving they sang to the Lord: “He is good; his love toward Israel endures forever.” And all the people gave a great shout of praise to the Lord, because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid.”[Ezra 3:11 NIV]▪️

Shout beloved, shout for Joy. Your deliverance and overcoming strategy is embedded in an atmosphere of joy, which unreservedly is expressed with a shout. The wall of Jericho was brought down with a joyous shout. The battle of Gideon led against the midianites was worn with the shouting strategy. >“When you hear them sound a long blast on the trumpets, have the whole army give a loud shout; then the wall of the city will collapse and the army will go up, everyone straight in.”[Joshua 6:5 NIV]▪️

>16)“The seventh time around, when the priests sounded the trumpet blast, Joshua commanded the army, “Shout! For the Lord has given you the city! 20)When the trumpets sounded, the army shouted, and at the sound of the trumpet, when the men gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so everyone charged straight in, and they took the city.”[Joshua 6:16, 20 NIV]▪️>“My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to you— I whom you have delivered.”[Psalm 71:23 NIV]▪️

Come on beloved, give your Shout of Joy and have every opposition and limiting wall collapse before you, giving you access to your blessings. >“May we shout for joy over your victory and lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the Lord grant all your requests.”[Psalm 20:5 NIV]▪️

>Psalm 66:1 (NIV)says==>“Shout for joy to God, all the earth!” >“Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.”[Psalm 100:1 NIV]▪️>“They raise their voices, they shout for joy; from the west they acclaim the Lord’s majesty.”[Isaiah 24:14 NIV]▪️
