Word Study for Today: The Book of Psalm Chapter 8
Devotion. THE FAVOUR FACTOR
Text: Esther 2:8-9;15-17 | Esther 5:1-3; 7:1-10.
Some measure of truth in this “Favour ain’t fair” school of thought- Favour confers on one, what lack of it will deny another. Why should this Hadassah girl, a niece to a palace guard, a slave from a far country, bulldoze herself into the contest she wasn’t eligible for by reason of nationality?
How come whilst we are still trying to deal with the question of her nationality; zoom, she becomes the spotlight of the women custodian- Hegai. I seem not to get it. There must be more to meet the eye on her matter, because no sooner than the contest started that it ended; because the same slave girl Haddassah turned Esther, had appeared before the King; and that was the ‘end of discussion’. When the favour factor is activated, the silence signage is put up for every other person to shushhh! Favour ain’t fair, but I say favour is just!.
Esther or what exactly is your name? Having taken the seat of royalty via your ‘Favour factor’, should you steal the king’s brain again? On the account of favour, the king forgot the rule, the policy, the law.
>Esther 4:11a (NKJV)==>““All the king’s servants and the people of the king’s provinces know that any man or woman who goes into the inner court to the king, who has not been called, he has but one law; put all to death…
Can you imagine? A related situation of not appearing before the king sent Vashti out of office forever. The one who was officially sent for who didn’t show up was sacked for life; but the one who wasn’t sent for yet appeared in the inner chambers of the king, got the scepter being stretched towards her. Favour speaks, Favour speaks; it spoke for Esther, it must speak for you too.
Proverbs 3:4 (NKJV)==>“And so find favour and high esteem In the sight of God and man.” It’s crucial for your favour with God to translate into favour with men. It was favour that ignited for Ruth with Boaz. Else why would any man do anything for anyone and especially for a stranger from a forbidden land? Yet, from the first sighting of Ruth, Boaz swung all doors open to her and even took up her case with kinsmen.
Favour will cause men to take up your case and speak up for you, (fighting battles for you even when you know nothing about it). It is called the favour factor!
Prayer Action
Make melody unto God giving thanks with deliberate songs of praise.
Revere Him more in your words, acknowledging Him as the God that Favours.
Ask the Lord vehemently to bring you into Favour with men and women that matters to your destiny path.
>Acts 7:10 (NLT)==>“and rescued him from all his troubles. And God gave him favour before Pharaoh, king of Egypt.
Appropriate now this ‘favour factor’ with those personalities you know are pivotal to your next levels. (Call forth Favour with them- mention names if you know them by name; be assertive).
