Scriptures says A FOLLOWER IS A SERVANT:
John. 12:26 (NKJV) “IF ANYONE SERVES ME, LET HIM FOLLOW ME; and WHERE I AM, THERE MY SERVANT WILL BE ALSO. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.”
From scriptures, we see followership in clear terms.
Mt. 9:9 (KJV) “And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and HE SIATH UNTO HIM, FOLLOW ME. AND HE arose, and FOLLOWED HIM.”
A FOLLOWER IS ONE WE CAN ALSO CALL A DISCIPLE.
Mt. 16:24-25 (KJV) 24)“Then said Jesus unto his DISCIPLES, IF ANY MAN WILL COME AFTER ME, LET HIM DENY HIMSELF, AND TAKE UP HIS CROSS, AND FOLLOW ME. 25) For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.”
A follower must deny himself of self, and whole heartedly follow the leader, else that is not true followership.
The currency of true followership is the “heart” and not “feelings/emotions” – but a sold out heart.
MY QUESTION IS : WHO ARE YOU FOLLOWING? WHOSE FOLLOWER ARE YOU?
My prayer is that in this month of May, the Lord by his spirit will help you and I, to be a true follower of the right and god ordained leader in the name of Jesus Christ. May you not pitch your tent behind one that will miss lead you in the name of Jesus Christ.
